So Deerboy might have gotten some personal validation today when ultra-cool hipster extraordinaire John Allison [scarygoround.com] mentioned the Arcade Fire in his daily email missive.

That's so funny. I got into a music conversation with someone two weeks ago, (at a shiva call, of all places) and he played coin operated boy for me on his iPod. I'd never heard of them, but now it's on my iPod too.

The song totally sounds to me like it should be on the Popeye soundtrack.
