Are you a happy drunk? Did you drink something tasty? Do you see blern? Did you catch the curling championships on the CBC? (The Alberta team has a couple of super hotties!) I'm happily baked.

Who are you doing?

I'm drunk too! I had a housewarming.

Party assessment:
+5 for free alcohol
+2 for Stones' Ginger Wine
+3 for burly men wearing schoolgirl uniforms
-5 for random fistfights
+10 for cops being called out before 10pm.

Overall a worthwhile night, I think.

The Zamphir version:

What (and how much): approximately four or five shots' worth of a fairly strong Long Island Iced Tea, and what amounts to three or four shots of gin contained in a variation on a gimlet (this particular one was 1 part sweetened lime juice, two parts gin, and however many parts you need to fill your glass of Sprite, in lieu of tonic water).

Where: Frat party about four blocks away, which devolved by one into various demonstrations of martial arts, and actually broke up around three.

How I'm feeling today: Just fine, thanks; a shower got the smell of smoke out of my hair, which is good since I'm having lunch with my mother. Then again, that's also one of the reasons I drank in moderation.

The Teledildonix version:

Happy: check.
Tasty: check.
Blern: no check, although there was a close call with infrablack.
Curling: no check again, but there were snippets of Mask of Zorro [imdb.com] and American Outlaws [imdb.com] on TV.
Who: my boyfriend. Unless you mean the demonstrations-of-violence, in which case it was mostly with our old housemate.

Unfortunately, I don't get to repeat the escapades tonight; Josh is going out with a handful of his friends to an actual legal establishment, which (unfortunately) excludes me. Bah!

I joined in the fun. I was at a bar watching basketball conference tournaments and by the end of the night I'd had two pitchers of beer for myself. Oh, add more because the table next to us left early and said "you guys can have the rest of this one if you want it." Far be it from us to turn down a free half-pitcher. The waitress was a feisty girl with a tramp stamp and was tipped accordingly. Happy birthday to me.

I think I'll dry out for a few days before St. Patrick's day...

Look, being busy is no excuse. Mail-order yourself 2 bottles of scope [yahoo.com]

When they arrive, drink the fuckers down. At 15% alcohol in a 50oz bottle, two bottles is 15 oz, or 10 American shots. If you're not drunk by then, then you never will be. And drink both of them down in an hour. Don't be a damn pussy.

Oh, and interesting tidbit -- did you know that "Irish Car Bomb" is not a popular drink in the UK?

In fact, it isn't even a drink.

I mean, obviously, but I was talking to a friend about this drink that was ordered as an Orange Crush (which is, I believe, Orange-flavored Vodka dunked into some redbull+grenadine. Searches for the recipe have been unsuccessful). So I started out, "Well, it's like an Irish Car Bomb."

She's from the UK.

There was this pregnant pause. "A what?!?"

"Uh, you don't have a drink called an Irish Car Bomb" (as I start saying this sentence I realize what I'm saying and start thinking stupid, stupid, stupid) "in the UK?"

"No."

Once we sort of navigated away from a dangerous turn in conversation, I described the drink to her. She thought it was the most disgusting thing she'd ever heard of.

I myself have never been a huge fan of the Irish Car Bomb, but do like the orange-flavored variation. Quite tasty indeed.
