The Terrorism of Star Wars

I have come to the conclusion that the destruction of the Death Star was the most destructive and violent terrorist act in cinematic history. The rebels were insurgents and they caused massive loss of life and property in retaliation for a government sanctioned military action (the destruction of Alderaan).

Remember it is only terrorism if it is politically motivated and done against a widely recognized entity.

It is only terrorism if the insurgents lose.

Otherwise, it is a Glorious Act of Revolution [pbs.org].

That was the second death star and all the independent contractors that the empire must have brought in to help build it... also a massive terrorist attack, but probably less storm troopers killed.

Even if they use 'terrorist tactics' such as dressing like civilians and hiding in ambush?

Yes, and it even includes training technologically unsophisticated indigenous peoples [wikipedia.org] in combat.

I thought archeology and anthropology were the histories of losers?

...Anyway, aren't there parts where the Rebels disguise themselves as civilians only to end up attacking the Imperials?

Absolutely, but I didn't reference back to the original post which this was replying to:

I think I was thinking that he meant they weren't terrorists because terrorists dress like civilians and hide in ambush. My bad. Hasty conclusion.

Actually more storm troopers were probably killed.

1) Defensive shield, higher state of a alert because of higher vulnerability, hence, more troopers.

2) "I assure you this battelstation is quite opperational."

3) Ground troops.

4) Troopers in the Super Star Destroyer as well as the rest of the fleet.
